The verdict is out. It’s now clear public health officials from places like CDC, and local departments of health did not get the proper message out about the vaccine program. Specifically, that vaccination of those at greatest risk from COVID-19 should be a priority over those at lowest risk. Sadly, because of Omicron, vaccination is now an ineffective intervention yet continues to be pushed on the wrong categories of people. That aside, you probably don’t know what i’m about to tell you.

Case in point, 64% of people in the United States are considered fully vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2. Sadly, a large portion of that 64% are young adults at lowest risk from severe outcomes of COVID-19. As you see in the graph below, the individuals under 50 happened to receive the vaccine more than highest risk people 64+.
