There’s been an enormous amount of news released over the past couple of days on waning vaccine efficacy, myocarditis in boys who took Pfizer & Moderna mRNA COVID vaccines, and the FDA approving a 4th dose for all 18+. If you missed reading through any of this data, it would be within your best interest to get caught up for one major reason. That being, since the FDA approved an additional dose, there will likely be more college/school, and work mandates to follow, thus increasing the rates of myopericarditis and even further.

Overall, In convalescent (previously infected with antibodies) & vaccinated people, geometric mean titres (GMT) against BA.2 were 1.68 times higher than against BA.1 (CI 1·63–1·73) and 2.3 times higher in those with prior infection who were also unvaccinated (95% CI 2·12-2·56). Finally, the authors state that 3 dose vaccination “had no statistical significance” on immunity. The takeaway in order:
1.) Existing antibody levels (GMTs) against BA.2 Omicron are higher than against BA.1 suggesting more robust immunity against the new Omicron variant
2.) GMTs were even higher in those unvaccinated with prior infection
3.) 2 doses and a booster provided no statistical significance in antibody protection again the new Omicron BA.2 variant

FDA Authorizes Second Booster Dose of Two COVID-19 Vaccines for Older and Immunocompromised Individuals.
Moderna was approved for those 18+, and Pfizer for individuals 65+. The 4th dose is encouraged for those immunocompromised or those at high risk like hospital workers, and cancer patients receiving chemotherapy/bone marrow transplants.
