UPDATE: Dr. Monica Ghandhi Says No To mRNA Vaccines
Alex Berenson pressed Dr. Ghandhi for answers as to why she clearly said no to mRNA boosters, yet yes to COVAXIN in her newsletter from yesterday. Her tone changed.
Her direct quotes:
“I’m not done with mRNA vaccines.”
“I think Dr. Graham [Barney Graham, who helped developed the vaccines at the National Institutes of Health] should win the Nobel Prize.”
“I think they’re fantastic vaccines.”
“It’s silly to write that.”
“I think they are really safe and effective vaccines.”
That said, medical insight is needed so you can better understand this, and that I will provide.
First, Omicron has mutated so the old amino acid sequence targeting the wild type variant, Delta, etc is not longer effective against the new strain. Second, boosters from Moderna and Pfizer are 50 mcg, and 30 mcg respectively, compared to the primary series 100 mcg, and 30 mcg. That being the case, changed amino acid sequences, coupled with reduced booster doses are likely making the mRNA from Moderna and Pfizer less effective at combating Omicron.
Second, I previously published about preliminary data that showed reduced T - cell production after repeat mRNA doses that were administered too close together (4 months). Specifically, CD4+, and CD8+ T- cells. You see, CD8+ cells directly attack a pathogen and neutralize it, and CD84+ cells alert the immune system of the invader which heightens the immune response. Unfortunately, after repeat boosting such a response was seen to be reduced substantially as frequent dosing made the immune system “tired”, hence the reduced production of important protective T- cells. Said alternatively, boosting could thwart the immune response, which could then leave an individual more susceptible.

It seems Dr. Monica Ghandhi is backtracking on her statement. I suppose it shouldn’t be a surprise considering the tumultuous environment in medicine and public health these days. Meaning, the population is becoming more informed, therefore holding practitioners like medical doctors, nurses, PAs, and NPs more accountable. How do you feel about this?
