Today OSHA issued a new COVID-19 EMERGENCY TEMPORARY STANDARD that will affect more than 84 million workers. Businesses with 100 or more employees are required to ensure employees are either FULLY VACCINATED ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 4th 2022, OR TESTED WEEKLY. This is the takeaway.
-Employers must implement a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy that either allows or disallows weekly testing
-Employers must create a list detailing proof of vaccination for every employee
-Employers must pay their employees for the time they leave and become vaccinated-up to 4 hours
-Employers must enforce weekly testing of unvaccinated individuals
-Employees must immediately notify employer of positive test result or diagnosis
-Employers must immediately remove any employee who tested positive from their facility. Employee cannot return until negative test result is obtained
-Employers must ensure face masks are worn by unvaccinated employees indoors or while in vehicle with others
-Employers must ensure their employees understand the masking, and vaccine policy
