An interesting number of events occurred today. First, Pfizer submitted an EUA application to give a 2nd booster dose to individuals 65+. Then, Moderna submitted their EUA application for approval of a 2nd booster for everyone 18+ the same day. Finally, by sundown, 25% of all reported CDC pediatric COVID deaths were eliminated due to a coding error by the agency.
Since the CDC uses IDC-9/10 codes (International Classification of Diseases 9th/10th editions, codes designed by World Health Organization) I'd be very interested in some details on these "incorrect" codes. Wouldn't you?
