This could have arguably been one of the largest failures of mRNA COVID vaccines to date. Specifically, this study revealed substantially low vaccine effectiveness against infection, and a much higher secondary attack rate (passing the virus to others in the household) in those who were vaccinated VS unvaccinated.
How can this claim and the new paper saying the bivalent booster is remarkably effective and keeping the boosted out of hospitals, both be true?
