Overall, I'm not sure how effective lockdowns are. They may have ramifications that are very detrimental (such as the loneliness some may feel, which, itself, can manifest as other illnesses.)
There are many things that can be said about lockdowns, but let me focus on the subject of this post:
As for how I feel about this (Fauci's statement that "You use lockdowns to get people vaccinated"), I feel there are different things to consider.
I watched the clip, and here are my thoughts:
1. He said that the vaccines that China uses are not as effective as the ones in the US and other countries.
So...does that mean that there's less need of a lockdown in countries that use the same vaccines as the US and other countries?
2. When he said "You use lockdowns to get people vaccinated," was he talking about China, or other countries?
3. He said that the strictness of Shanghai's lockdown is not something you'd be able to implement in the United States.
4. I personally think that people are a big pandemic-fatigued. They were made a promise that the "vaccines" would be a way out of this, and so far, that doesn't seem to be the case.
5. I don't know how willing people would be if there were 2020-style lockdowns implemented again.
6. If I had to state how I personally feel about Fauci's statement, I'd say that it's a bit...manipulative. It may only further fuel vaccine hesitancy.
Instead, I'd ask him, "Why haven't you (the FDA, the CDC, the NIH, etc.) adequately answered some of the very serious questions that many people have about our continuing response to this pandemic?"

(In fact, on December 26th, I wrote an article about this: https://dkfynn.substack.com/p/have-we-gotten-anywhere? )
