Recently, Nature Medicine released a self-controlled case series study done by researchers at Oxford in Europe which examined all individuals 16 and older 1-28 days post vaccination and infection for adverse events1. Of strong public interest, was the correlation between mRNA vaccination with either mRNA-1273 (Moderna), ChAdOx1 (AstraZeneca), or BNT162b2 (Pfizer), and the risk of myocarditis. Now, fast forward to December 25th 2021, the same authors released updated research from the aforesaid study stratifying myocarditis by age, and sex3. In other words, the authors further broke down their data to pinpoint who was at highest risk for myocarditis after mRNA primary series vaccination+booster dose.
